Tuesday: In health, we are learning about our feelings by using the program called the Zones of Regulation. We focused on the red zone. We talked about how we feel when we're in the red zone, such as angry, mad, or frustrated. Students came up with different strategies to use when they are in the red zone, such as deep breathing and talking it out. I also introduced our classroom's calm down corner, which can be used by students when they need to take a break to calm themselves back down. Students had the opportunity to explore the tools in the calm down corner, such as the egg chair, squeeze tools, calm down jar, and stuffed animal.
Wednesday: We are learning how to be writers! Students made a writing folder and brainstormed writing topics to help inspire their writing in the future.
